Vogelzang Law Settles Two Mesothelioma Cases for $1.7 Million
The trial team at Vogelzang Law has recently resolved two mesothelioma cases this week for a total of $1.7 million.
Attorneys Wyatt Berkover and Nathaniel Wallace represented the plaintiffs and their families.
The cases consisted of two men who contracted mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos in their careers.
Terry Steinberg was an employee of IDOT and was exposed to asbestos while working around brake jobs performed in the numerous state maintenance depots.
Hundreds of vehicles were and are maintained at these depots and the dust from the asbestos brakes that were worked on during his employment there contributed to his mesothelioma. He passed away in April.
The other mesothelioma plaintiff was Robert “Don” Bergren. Bergren was exposed to asbestos while in the Navy working as a boiler technician and then again in the private sector working as a lifelong electrician. Bergren passed away from mesothelioma in December 2018.
“Terry and Don were two hard working gentlemen who will always be loved and cherished by their families and friends and the communities they made home,” said Berkover. “Their lives were unfairly taken early by a cancer that came from exposures to asbestos they faced while making a living to provide for their families. They will both be missed dearly.”
The firm has two more mesothelioma cases up for trial in October.
