Vogelzang Law Resolves Two Mesothelioma Cases in March

Vogelzang Law has resolved two more mesothelioma cases this past month for over $3.5 million. The first case was Ronald Bialas who has been battling mesothelioma for about one year. Mr. Bialas worked as a crane operator for many years at Republic Steel in Chicago. He was exposed to asbestos during the ingot mold process of pouring hot steel. He continues to do well with chemotherapy and he and his lovely wife Arlene are planning to move to a great retirement community in Kankakee, IL.

The firm also successfully resolved the case of Stanley Murray, who sadly passed away from mesothelioma on September 9, 2018. Mr. Murray had a variety of jobs throughout his career, including working at a foundry in Muskegon, Michigan, assembling power lines, and working as a pipefitter. He was exposed to asbestos-containing insulation on pumps, valves, pipes, and gaskets. His deposition was challenging given the state of his disease, but he pushed through and his family will no doubt benefit from his hard work.

Although the cases were assigned out for trial on March 12, 2019, we did not need to argue before the judge or begin jury selection thanks to the hard work on both sides to find a reasonable middle ground. The next trial coming up for Vogelzang Law is James Thomas in late April. Jim passed away from lung cancer after a long career working as a Local 17 Chicago insulator.
