THE 2ND ANNUAL VOGELZANG LAW GOLF OUTING RAISES OVER $11,000 FOR GILDA’S CLUB OF CHICAGO

The 2nd Annual Vogelzang Law Golf Outing is in the books, and it was a rousing success! Our friends, colleagues, and sponsors joined us at the beautiful Rolling Green Country Club in Arlington Heights, Illinois. While the outing was for fun, the cause we fight for is extremely important. The charity golf outing is a proud collaboration with the cancer support community and a fundamental part of Vogelzang Law’s commitment to fueling cancer research. This year we are pleased to announce that we raised over $11,000 for Gilda’s Club of Chicago.

“I am so humbled to see all the outpouring of support from our union family for this event.” said Mirela Kopier, Vogelzang Law’s Charity Golf Outing director. “I am also proud of our amazing staff who volunteered for the day and made our golfers feel right at home.”

Gilda’s Club of Chicago, identified by its iconic red door, is an organization providing essential services to those dealing with cancer. This is where all people affected by cancer can find resources, support, and a community ready to help them navigate their new normal. The club’s namesake, Gilda Radner, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 1985 – her legacy lived on as her husband, Gene Wilder, and friends established Gilda’s Club and opened their first red door in New York City. Since then, Gilda’s Club has expanded and joined forces with The Wellness Community to become the Cancer Support Community. CSC lifts some burdens by providing essential and often overlooked services, including support groups, counseling, education, and healthy lifestyle programs. With over 50 local affiliates and 100 satellite locations and online, CSC offers the highest quality emotional and social support network in the cancer community. Their mission is “to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community.”

“It is imperative to support all charities, but Gilda’s Club is near and dear to the firm,” Kopier says. “Gilda’s was one of the first charities I met when I started with the firm. I have seen firsthand how they help everyone impacted by cancer, not just the patient and their families.”

“The success of the first year reinforced the need for the outing,” adds Koper, “Not only is this a chance to get outside and enjoy a round of golf, but we are also able to support the cancer community and reinforce how important the fight for a cure is. We have all been affected at one point or another, and the services Gilda’s Club offers are indispensable.”

This year’s guests included union members, health professionals, and other Vogelzang Law family and friends. We all enjoyed a chance to relax on the course, bid for prizes, and partake in delicious food and drink.

“This year’s golf outing was such a wonderful day, bringing together our staff, union family, and a charity that is so near and dear to Vogelzang Law’s mission and heart,” said Madelynne Drescher, Vogelzang Law Charity Golf Outing associate. “We’re so grateful and proud to support Gilda’s Club Chicago and to have hosted such a wonderful day of golf for all who attended. We’re so grateful to all who attended, sponsored, donated, and supported.”

We are beyond grateful to our sponsors and partners. Their generous support makes the entire outing possible. We are also thankful for our Vogelzang Law staff for volunteering before, during, and after the event. Their participation is what makes events like this so special.

“I couldn’t have done any of this without Maddie,” said Kopier. “She is my partner throughout and is a huge reason why this event was so successful. I also want to thank Nick and Caylei for always giving so much trust and belief in our team. I’m truly blessed to work for two people with such big hearts and who value giving back.”

We can’t wait to see what next year brings and look forward to many more Vogelzang Law golf outings to come! Check out our photos from this year’s event!
