Caylei Vogelzang is a different kind of leader—a champion for families affected by Cancer and a fearless proponent for the underdog.
Caylei Vogelzang is a different kind of cancer warrior. She founded Cancer Wellness (cW), a comprehensive guide of resources available to cancer thrivers and survivors. The goal of cW is to give those impacted by cancer a lifestyle-focused place to connect, be inspired by those fighting cancer, and learn more about innovations and research, wellness, and ways to enhance their overall health.
Caylei grew up on an organic herb farm south of Ashland, Oregon. Over the course of her childhood (and with plenty of elbow grease), her parent’s humble herb farm slowly transformed into a gourmet food manufacturing company. Amid this, Caylei fostered a dream of attending an Ivy League college that came to fruition when she was recruited to row on the crew team at Columbia University. After graduation, Caylei moved to South Carolina and became the national sales manager for her family business. This move turned out to be the catalyst for everything that came after.
During her time in Charleston, Caylei met Nick Vogelzang, and together, they created an ecosystem encompassing the values and philosophy of care and compassion with an eye on justice. Bringing together two mindsets with a common goal ensures Vogelzang Law and Cancer Wellness are focused on families and giving them a chance for their voice to be heard and healing.
Cancer Wellness came out of Caylei’s desire to provide enhanced client services and offer a resource guide for the firm’s clients and families. The harshness of cancer cannot be ignored, but there is also an opportunity to give survivors, thrivers, and supporters guidance on how they can feel their best.
In addition to her work with cW, Caylei is the firm’s Director of Business Strategy, a role she embraces enthusiastically. Her marketing background and client compassion give her a unique perspective. Gratitude for life and health permeates her interactions. It helps the firm focus on the health and well-being of each client as they navigate the harrying world of mesothelioma and a cancer journey. Her work sheds light on what has become a national crisis.
Outside the office, Caylei is active in the cancer community, working with the Mesothelioma Race for Justice, the Global Wellness Institute, the American Lung Association, A Silver Lining Foundation, Gilda’s Club Chicago, and other cancer-focused charitable organizations. You can often find her traveling with her family and practicing her health and wellness regimen, helping her live her best life.
Mesothelioma is a disease that I come into contact with daily, on a multitude of fronts. I have both friends and family members affected by cancer. These days I find it very rare to meet individuals who have not been impacted by cancer in some way.
